What is it like to learn with East Riding Adult Learning and Employability?

At East Riding Adult Learning and Employability we pride ourselves on the support we give to our learners, from the very first time you contact us, to the day you achieve your goals.

As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. They will also tell you about all of the other great opportunities that you have access to including help with developing your skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience. What do I need to join the course?

A willingness to learn and a positive attitude! You should be comfortable with using a smartphone or tablet but no previous knowledge of using mapping/navigation apps is required. If you would like to learn more about this first, you might like to attend our Smartphones and Tablets: Getting to Grips course.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

You might find it useful to bring your own smartphone or tablet along to the session so that we can help you with using your very own device. We do have some tablets available in our centre for you to use if you do not have your own. You might also find it helpful to bring a notebook and pen to make some notes to help with your learning.

What could I do next?

You can choose to complete some of our other digital courses to improve your digital skills. As a next step, you could decide to learn more about communicating using your smartphone or using the internet and emails in our other smartphone and tablet courses.

Can we help you to learn?

You can find more information on the Financial help and additional support page or you can contact us to talk about this and any other support we can provide.
