As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. They will also tell you about all of the other great opportunities that you have access to including help with developing your skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience. If you are looking for work or aiming for a change of role, then your tutor will also make you aware of the employability programmes we have available to support you in achieving your employment goals.

Our team will be there to support you at every step of your journey and we always welcome your feedback to help us ensure that you feel safe, happy, supported and welcome.

What do I need to join the course?

A willingness to learn and a positive attitude! You should understand a little bit about the basics of using a Smartphone or Tablet and sending/receiving emails. This course is suitable for if you want to know what more you can do with your emails on your Smartphone or Tablet. If you want to learn about the basics first, you could try out our Smartphones and Tablets: Emails (Step 1) session.

What do I need to provide for the first session?

You might find it useful to bring your own smartphone or tablet along to the session so that we can help you with using your very own device. We do have some tablets available in our centre for you to use if you do not have your own. You might also find it helpful to bring a notebook and pen to make some notes to help with your learning. If you already have an email address, it would be helpful for you to know the email address and password for the account.

Virtual Learning Only: If you are attending virtually, you will need to make sure you have a suitable PC/laptop to allow you to join the virtual group with your tutor. You should also have your smartphone/tablet to hand as you will be using this during the session. If you already have an email address, it would be helpful for you to know the email address and password for the account.

What could I do next?

You can choose to complete some of our other digital courses to improve your digital skills. As a next step, you could choose to improve your knowledge of communicating on your device or understand how to use entertainment features, by attending some of our other smartphone and tablets courses. Speak to one of our friendly members of the team to find out more.

Can we help you to learn?
