Making art can be a great way to relax and get away from your daily stresses, be mindful and experience relaxation through arts practice.

On this course, you’ll learn different art techniques, and work on your own personal project to help you express your thoughts and encourage relaxation.

Equally importantly you’ll learn how to make room for art in your everyday life, and how this can have a positive effect on your health and wellbeing, helping you to focus, feel calm and take notice of the world around you. You’ll also be shown how to let go of the results of your artmaking and focus on the positive effects of the act of creating.

So, whether you already enjoy creating art but don’t find the time, or you want to be creative but don’t know how to start, this course will help you to create something that’s just for you.

What will I learn?

  • how to use art as a means of relaxation
  • how to record your progress using a personal journal
  • how to create a ‘mood board’ using a variety of different materials
  • how to use a colour wheel and recognise how colour may affect your mood
  • how to use different materials to effectively express your feelings

How much will it cost?

The course fee is displayed at the top of this page.

This course is supported by Tailored Learning funding with an aim of improving health and wellbeing. A fee concession may be available dependent on your circumstances.
