What will I learn?

You will learn beginner level vocabulary of Spanish and build your confidence in using the language through pronunciation, while holding longer conversations and reading more complex sentences.

As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. If you are looking for work or aiming for a change of role, then your tutor will also make you aware of the employability programmes we have available to support you in achieving your employment goals.

What do I need to join the course?

You will need to be able to hold conversations of the below to attend this opportunity:

Forming simple sentences about themselves:

• Name, where you live, phone number, origin, nationality, languages you know/learn, age, hobbies, favourite foods/drinks.

Knowledge of simple vocabulary:

• Numbers 0-100;
• Names for close relatives (i.e. daughter, son, sister, brother, uncle, auntie, grandchildren, etc.);
• Phrases for opinions, such as: I like, I prefer, I don’t like, etc.;
• A few free-time activities (e.g. reading, running, walking, watching television, etc.).

What do I need to provide for the first session?

You need a willingness to learn, stationary or IT equipment as you prefer.
