This qualification is designed for learners who want to develop a basic understanding of mental health. It explores key issues, challenges common misconceptions, and promotes awareness of the rights of individuals with mental health conditions. Aimed at those aged 19 and over, it is suitable for personal development or as a foundation for further study or work in health, social care, or education. Learners will gain insight into emotional wellbeing, stigma, and support systems, helping to foster inclusive attitudes and contribute to wider mental health awareness in communities and workplaces.
This engaging and accessible course introduces you to the essential concepts of mental health. You’ll explore what mental health means, how it affects individuals and communities, and why awareness is so important in today’s society.
Through practical and thought-provoking content, you’ll learn to recognise common mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress, and understand how these impact wellbeing.
The course helps you challenge stigma and misconceptions, giving you the confidence to talk about mental health with sensitivity and respect. You’ll also gain valuable insight into the rights of people living with mental health issues, including access to support and legal protections.
