If you have ever felt overwhelmed by technology, anxious about making online mistakes, or worried about being left behind, this course is built entirely for you. This targeted programme is designed exclusively for adults referred by our LEAs (Learner Experience Advisors) and tutors, to bridge specific skills gaps and pave a smooth, confident path toward an accredited qualification. We know that traditional classrooms do not work for everyone, and that adult learners bring varied life experiences to the table. This supportive course is specifically tailored to welcome adults who want to rebuild their confidence, overcome past anxieties, fill in the gaps in your knowledge, and master the everyday digital skills needed for modern life.
During these sessions, you will discover that technology is not something to fear, but a tool that you can completely control to make your life easier and safer. Completing this learning opportunity will empower you to manage daily tasks online with total independence, absolute certainty, and a deep sense of security. You will trade frustration for ultimate freedom by learning how to handle essential household tasks, protect your private data, manage your health via the NHS app, and complete online banking entirely on your own without having to rely on others for help.
By joining our collaborative, judgment-free community of learners, you will benefit from a personalised space where you can study at a pace that matches your unique learning preference. This course is the perfect, stress-free springboard to step comfortably onto future accredited digital pathways. Together, we will replace tech anxiety with absolute certainty, celebrating mistakes as part of the natural learning journey while filling in the missing puzzles in your knowledge so you can confidently advance to official qualifications.
By the end of this course, you will have gained practical skills, confidence, and tools to navigate the digital world with growing independence. This course is set individually to your needs so you may:

At East Riding Adult Learning and Employability we pride ourselves on the support we give to our learners, from the very first time you contact us, to the day you achieve your goals.
If you choose to join this course you will be supported by our dedicated staff, learn in a small friendly and welcoming group, have the opportunity to take part in activities to practise your skills, be encouraged to continue to practise when you are away from the classroom and receive lots of encouragement to help you build both your skills and your confidence.
As well as working in groups, you will benefit from regular time working with your tutor, discussing your progress and planning your next steps. They will also tell you about all of the other great opportunities that you have access to including help with developing your skills, joining one of our creative skills classes or sessions to improve your health, wellbeing, confidence or resilience. If you are looking for work or aiming for a change of role, then your tutor will also make you aware of the employability programmes we have available to support you in achieving your employment goals.
Our team will be there to support you at every step of your journey and we always welcome your feedback to help us ensure that you feel safe, happy, supported and welcome, when you learn with us.
You don’t need any qualifications or experience to join this course. Before you start you will have a chat with one of our advisors to make sure this is the right course for you.
You don’t need to bring anything with you to take part. We’ll provide all the materials and resources you need. If you’d like to bring a pen and some paper to make notes, you can, but it’s completely optional. Just come as you are. Your tutor will make sure you feel welcome and ready to get started.
At the end of the course, we’ll help you think about what you’d like to do next. This might be another course with Adult Education, volunteering, getting more involved in your community, or preparing for work. You’ll get support to help plan your next steps and keep moving forward.
