During the course, you will develop your skills in a relaxed and supportive environment, learning how simple changes to composition, lighting and camera settings can make a real difference to your photographs. With guidance from an experienced tutor, you'll build confidence, explore your creativity and enjoy taking photographs of family, friends, landscapes and everyday moments.
As your confidence grows, you'll have the opportunity to practise new techniques, learn alongside other photography enthusiasts and discover how to get the very best from your camera.
During this course, you will learn how to move beyond the automatic setting and gain a better understanding of how your camera works. You'll explore composition, lighting, aperture, shutter speed and ISO, discovering how these work together to help you create stronger, more effective photographs.

Please bring your own camera with you. You might also find it useful to bring a notebook and pen.
Once you've completed this course, you may wish to continue developing your photography skills by progressing onto our Photography: Camera Settings and Photography: Creative Techniques courses. Your tutor will be happy to explain the progression opportunities available and help you choose the next course that's right for you.
