Fancy having a go at pottery? This fun and informal taster session is the perfect opportunity to give it a try. During the session, you’ll explore some simple pottery slab techniques while creating your own colourful utensil pot or vase to take home. Ideal for beginners or anyone wanting to try something creative, this relaxed two-hour session will give you a taste of pottery and clay skills and the confidence to explore it further.

What will I learn?

During the session, you'll learn how to prepare and join clay slabs to create a simple upright pot. You will practise making clay relief shapes selecting your favourite to attach to your pot's surface as well as decorating your handmade pot with coloured engobes and slips. Making your own handmade item will increase your confidence handling clay and a taste of one of the techniques you could develop further on one of our pottery courses.

After your piece has dried it will be bisque fired for you to collect at a later date.

How much will it cost?

The course cost is displayed at the top of the page. This is a full-cost course.
